Beacon

Looking for a Strava alternative?

Beacon and Strava do different jobs. Strava is where your activities live and where your friends see them. Beacon is what decides what you should do next week, and whether last week earned it.

The honest status of the Strava connection

New Strava connections are paused. Beacon's Strava app is at Strava's per-app athlete cap, so a fresh connect currently ends on Strava's own refusal screen rather than linking your account.

That is a limit on Strava's side, not a feature we removed, and existing connections keep working.

What still reaches Beacon

Your Strava activities usually arrive anyway, through Apple Health — if the Strava app writes to Health, Beacon reads from there and recognises Strava as the recorder, so the run is credited to it rather than landing unlabelled.

That matters more than it sounds. When a GPS-recorded run and a ring's step-estimated version of the same run both exist, Beacon uses the GPS measurement, because a track is a measurement and a cadence estimate is not.

What Beacon is for

Not a feed, and not a segment leaderboard — it has neither. It builds the plan, reads your recovery from a connected ring or strap, tracks nutrition and habits, and adapts when the week does not go as written.

Before you switch

  • iPhone only. No Android app, no iPad app.
