Every other connection tells Beacon about your body. This one tells it about your week, which is usually the thing that decides whether a plan survives contact with Monday.
What Beacon reads
Your calendar events — from the calendars you choose, across a rolling window of the past 30 days and the next 90. Beacon uses them to see where your time actually is before it suggests when you'll train.
Events you've declined are ignored. Ones you haven't answered yet, or marked tentative, are kept — an unanswered invitation is still a claim on the slot.
What Beacon writes back
This connection goes both ways. Beacon can create calendar events for:
- Habit blocks — the time you've set aside for a habit, on your calendar where you'll actually see it.
- Bookings — a class or appointment Beacon helped you commit to.
Beacon only ever edits or removes events it created itself; each one is tagged as Beacon's when it's written. Your own events are never touched.
Connecting turns habit blocks on. Eligible habits get a calendar block straight away, rather than waiting for you to enable them one at a time. You can turn any of them off afterwards.
History and freshness
There's no history import — Beacon mirrors the rolling −30/+90 day window instead, and refreshes it about every 15 minutes.
Two consequences worth knowing:
- Your calendar can be up to about 15 minutes behind. An event you add now may not be visible to the coach immediately.
- Your events appear shortly after connecting, not instantly — the first refresh has to run.
Good to know
- A very full calendar can be read partially. Beacon pages through a bounded number of events per calendar; beyond that it works with what it has.
- Disconnecting removes the mirrored events from Beacon, and revokes Beacon's access with Google. Nothing is deleted from your actual Google Calendar except events Beacon itself created. Reconnect and the window refills on the next refresh.
- Your device calendar is separate. Disconnecting Google doesn't affect calendars Beacon reads from the phone itself.
